Select and Maintain Your Truck Floor Mats
Whether you are using your truck for commercial, residential, or recreational use, chances are that your truck is an extension of your personality and style. From the color of the exterior paint to the style of the truck floor mats, your truck is an investment and one that should well outlast your payment book. Truck floor mats serve as a protective layer between your truck’s floors and whatever may rest or fall upon them, preventing hard to clean stains and corrosion.
Before selecting accessories such as truck floor mats for your vehicle, you must first consider the ways in which the truck with be used. For example, if you are using the truck for recreational use, mostly for style, truck shows, or modifying, you will want to opt for more stylish and less practical truck floor mats with designs, carpeting, or the logo of make and/or model of the vehicle. For commercial or heavy-duty use, you will want to find sturdy, form fitting truck floor mats made of rubber or chemically coated to resist stains and take the abuse of heavy equipment, shock absorption, wear, and damage. Light-duty or residential use will require rubber, stain resistant truck floor mats, perhaps will shock absorption and a protective or chemically coated surface as well.
To clean truck floor mats, there are a few options. For carpeted or rubber truck floor mats without a protective chemical coating, stains from mud, concrete, paint, food, or corrosive materials may need the help of a cleaning professional experienced in stain removal and applying spray-on stain repellent that will bead liquids and keep caked in stains from setting into the fibers of the carpeting. For truck floor mats that are chemically treated, they simply have to be removed and sprayed with a garden hose to remove caked on debris and some paints and solvents. Some corrosive materials and paints may need some additional scrubbing with warm soapy water.
