Decide on a house floor plan
When the time comes to build a new home, one of the most important, and most difficult, decisions to make is which house floor plan to use. There are many things to think about, for both the family that will live there, as well as future buyers. The design of the kitchen, the number of bedrooms, and the number of bathrooms can either turn the building into a dream house or a cramped living space.
The number of bedrooms in the chosen house floor plan should outnumber the amount of bedrooms the family would need. An extra bedroom could be used for an office, an art studio, or a den for the time being, and could be converted back to a bedroom if there was an addition to the family. All of the bedrooms should be generous in size, because that is good selling point for all houses.
When choosing a house floor plan, there should also be an adequate amount of bathrooms. A separate master bath is a popular feature in most houses today, and it should be on the top of the list. As far as the rest of the bedrooms are concerned, a shared bath would suffice, though extra bathrooms will surely add to the market value of the home.
A good kitchen is an absolute must in any house floor plan. The design must be efficient for working in, with counters at the correct height and appliances located in the most convenient places. To get the most value for the dollar, there should be ample cabinets to store food and dishes in, and the cabinets should be of the highest quality that the budget can provide.
Further considerations for the perfect house plan should include the size of the attic, the basement, and the garage. If all of these choices are considered wisely, the house will become the perfect home, and it will also have a great resale value, when the time comes to part with it.
